Sweet-hot Spiced Pecans Recipe

  • Step #1 In a bowl, mix 1/3 c sugar, 1/2 tsp salt, 3/4 tsp cayenne, 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon, 1/2 tsp ground coriander, & 1/8 tsp ground allspice.
  • Step #2 Whisk in 1 large egg white & 2 tsps vegetable oil.
  • Step #3 Stir in 2 c pecan halves.
  • Step #4 Spread nuts in a single layer in an oiled nonstick 10- by 15-inch baking pan.
  • Step #5 Bake in a 300° regular or convection oven, until nuts are crisp & lightly browned, stirring every once in awhile, 20 to 25 mins.
  • Step #6 Let cool about 5 mins, then use a wide spatula to loosen nuts from pan; cool completely.
  • Step #7 Serve or store airtight at about room temp up to 2 weeks.
