Parmesan Cheese Bites Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c butter or margarine, cut up
  • 2 tbsps milk
  • 2/3 c grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 tsp ground red pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Stir together first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl; cut in butter with a pastry mixer until crumbly.
  • Step #2 (Mixture will look very dry.
  • Step #3 ) Gently press mixture together with hands, working until mixed & smooth (about 2 to 3 mins).
  • Step #4 Shape dough into 2 (4-inch-long) logs.
  • Step #5 Wrap in plastic wrap, & place this in an airtight container.
  • Step #6 Freeze up to 3 months.
  • Step #7 Thaw dough overnight in refrigerator.
  • Step #8 Cut into 1/4-inch-thick slices, & place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Step #9 Brush with milk.
  • Step #10 Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #11 Note: Dough may be rolled into a 10- x 8- 1/4-inch rectangle on a lightly floured surface.
  • Step #12 Cut lengthwise into 8 strips & crosswise into 4 strips, using a pastry wheel or knife forming 32 squares.
  • Step #13 Place squares on a lightly greased baking sheet; brush with milk, & bake.
