Fried Calamari With Roasted Garlic And Lime Aïoli Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  •  Peanut oil
  • 1 (2.5-lb) package frozen, cleaned calamari (tubes & tentacles), thawed
  •  Roasted Garlic & Lime Aïoli
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Cut calamari tubes into 1/4-inch-thick rings; pat dry with paper towels.
  • Step #2 Combine flour, salt, & pepper in a shallow dish.
  • Step #3 Dredge rings & tentacles, in batches, in flour mixture.
  • Step #4 Pour oil to depth of 2 inches into a Dutch oven; heat to 365°.
  • Step #5 Fry calamari, in batches, 2 mins or until golden; drain on paper towels.
  • Step #6 Serve as soon as possible with Roasted Garlic & Lime Aïoli.
  • Step #7 Note: You can use frozen & sliced squid packaged without tentacles.
