Oven-dried Tomato On Toast Rounds Recipe

Ingredients
  • 24 (1/2-inch-thick) slices French bread baguette, toasted
  • 1 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
  • 12 plum tomatoes, peeled, seeded, & cut in half lengthwise
  • 2 tbsps sliced fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, oregano)
  • 24 fresh basil leaves
  • 3 tbsps olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 250°.
  • Step #2 Arrange tomato halves in a single layer in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Step #3 Drizzle with oil; sprinkle with herbs, pepper, garlic, & salt.
  • Step #4 Bake at 250° for 4 hrs.
  • Step #5 Place one dried tomato half on top of each toast round.
  • Step #6 Garnish each toast round with 1 basil leaf.
