Feta Squares Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/8 tsp pepper
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 lb feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1/2 lb butter, melted
  • 12 frozen phyllo pastry sheets, thawed
  • 1 tbsp sliced fresh dill
  • 1 1/2 (8-oz) packages cream cheese, softened

Directions
  • Step #1 Beat cheeses at medium speed with an electric mixer until mixed.
  • Step #2 Add eggs at lowish speed, one at a time, until mixed.
  • Step #3 Stir in dill, salt, & pepper.
  • Step #4 Cut each pastry sheet into a 13- x 9-inch rectangle.
  • Step #5 Stack 8 pastry sheets in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch pan, brushing with butter between sheets.
  • Step #6 Spread with cheese mixture; top this with 4 more sheets, & brush with butter.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #8 Let stand 10 mins before cutting into squares.
  • Step #9 NOTE: Squares may be baked, covered with foil wrap, & frozen.
  • Step #10 Thaw at about room temp 30 mins.
  • Step #11 Bake squares at 350° for 25 mins or until thoroughly heated.
