Cranberry Trail Bars Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c sesame seeds
  • 3 tbsps peanut butter
  • 1/3 c sliced almonds
  • 1/3 c raw sunflower seeds
  • 1/3 c sliced pecans
  • 7 c miniature marshmallows
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine
  • 3 1/2 c crisp rice cereal
  • 1/3 c unsweetened flaked coconut
  • 1 c dried cranberries

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large skillet over med-heat/flame, sunflower seeds, stir this together the sesame seeds, pecans & almonds.
  • Step #2 Cook until the sesame seeds are starting to turn golden, about 3 mins.
  • Step #3 Add coconut, & stir until sesame seeds are golden.
  • Step #4 Watch carefully, as they burn easily.
  • Step #5 Stir in the cranberries & cereal, & remove this from heat.
  • Step #6 In a large saucepan, mix the peanut butter, butter & marshmallows.
  • Step #7 Cook & stir over low heat/flame until marshmallows are melted.
  • Step #8 Pour in the cereal & nut mixture, & stir until evenly coated.
  • Step #9 Press lightly into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Step #10 Let stand until cool, then cut into bars.
  • Step #11 Store in an airtight container, or wrap individually in plastic wrap.
