Jam Tarts Recipe

Ingredients
  •  Garnish: fresh fruit
  • 1 recipe Sweet Tart Dough
  • 2/3 to 1 1/3 c fruit jam or preserves (such as peach, strawberry, blackberry, raspberry, or plum)

Directions
  • Step #1 Roll half of Sweet Tart Dough to 1/8-inch thickness on a lightly floured surface.
  • Step #2 Place dough over 12 to 14 small greased (2 1/2- to 3-inch) tart pans, & carefully press dough into pans.
  • Step #3 Repeat with remaining dough.
  • Step #4 Place pans on a baking sheet; cover & chill at least 1 hr.
  • Step #5 Preheat oven to 425°.
  • Step #6 Line tarts with foil wrap, & fill with rice or pie weights.
  • Step #7 Bake at 425° for 8 to 10 mins or until edges of tarts begin to brown.
  • Step #8 Remove foil wrap & weights.
  • Step #9 Spread 1 to 2 tsps jam into each tart.
  • Step #10 Bake at 425° for 8 to 10 mins or until edges are golden.
  • Step #11 Remove from oven, & let cool in pans on wire racks 5 mins.
  • Step #12 Remove from pans.
  • Step #13 Serve warm, or let cool completely.
  • Step #14 Garnish, if desired.
  • Step #15 Store in an airtight container up to 3 days.
  • Step #16 Note: You can also make tarts in miniature muffin tins.
  • Step #17 Roll dough as directed; cut into 2 1/4-inch squares.
  • Step #18 Press squares evenly into greased miniature muffin tins, rounding corners.
  • Step #19 Line & fill as directed in step 2, then bake this at 425° for 6 to 8 mins or until edges begin to brown.
  • Step #20 Remove foil wrap & weights.
  • Step #21 Fill each tart with 1/2 to 1 tsp jam.
  • Step #22 Bake at 425° for 6 to 8 mins or until edges are golden.
  • Step #23 Cool & serve or store as directed.
