Catfish Poppers With Spicy Dipping Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2/3 c all-purpose flour
  •  Vegetable oil
  •  Spicy Dipping Sauce
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1 1/2 c Japanese breadcrumbs (panko)
  • 1/2 tsp Cajun seasoning
  • 1 3/4 lbs catfish fillets, cut into 1 1/2-inch pieces
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine first 3 ingredients; whisk together egg & milk.
  • Step #2 Dredge catfish pieces in flour mixture, & dip in egg mixture.
  • Step #3 Dredge in breadcrumbs.
  • Step #4 Pour oil to a depth of 1/2 inch In a large-ish skillet; heat to 375°.
  • Step #5 Fry catfish pieces, in batches, 2 to 3 mins on each side or until golden brown.
  • Step #6 Drain on paper towels.
  • Step #7 Serve with Spicy Dipping Sauce.
