Chinese Hot And Sour Soup
Ingredients
1 tsp rice vinegar
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp sake
1 tbsp honey
1 tsp grated fresh ginger
1/4 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
1 tbsp ketchup
1/2 tsp grated fresh garlic
3 tbsps hoisin sauce
1 tsp lemon juice
1 lb pork spareribs
Directions
Step #1 In a shallow glass dish, ginger, soy sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, mix together the hoisin sauce, sake, honey, lemon juice, garlic & five-spice powder.
Step #2 Place the ribs in the dish, & turn to coat.
Step #3 Cover & marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hrs, or as long as overnight.
Step #4 Preheat the oven to 325F degrees F (165 degrees C).
Step #5 Fill a broiler tray with enough water to cover the bottom.
Step #6 Place the grate or rack over the tray.
Step #7 Arrange the ribs on the grate.
Step #8 Place the broiler rack in the center of the oven.
Step #9 Cook for 40 mins, turning & brushing with the marinade every 10 mins.
Step #10 Let the marinade cook on for the final 10 mins to make a glaze.
Step #11 Finish under the broiler if desired.
Step #12 Discard any remaining marinade.
