Chinese Spareribs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sake
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/4 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1/2 tsp grated fresh garlic
  • 3 tbsps hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 lb pork spareribs

Directions
  • Step #1 In a shallow glass dish, ginger, soy sauce, ketchup, rice vinegar, mix together the hoisin sauce, sake, honey, lemon juice, garlic & five-spice powder.
  • Step #2 Place the ribs in the dish, & turn to coat.
  • Step #3 Cover & marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hrs, or as long as overnight.
  • Step #4 Preheat the oven to 325F degrees F (165 degrees C).
  • Step #5 Fill a broiler tray with enough water to cover the bottom.
  • Step #6 Place the grate or rack over the tray.
  • Step #7 Arrange the ribs on the grate.
  • Step #8 Place the broiler rack in the center of the oven.
  • Step #9 Cook for 40 mins, turning & brushing with the marinade every 10 mins.
  • Step #10 Let the marinade cook on for the final 10 mins to make a glaze.
  • Step #11 Finish under the broiler if desired.
  • Step #12 Discard any remaining marinade.
