Hampton Place Beef Tenderloin Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (5-lb) trimmed & tied beef tenderloin
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 c mixed sesame oil*
  • 1 tbsp coarse sea salt
  • 1 tbsp pepper
  • 1 tbsp minced fresh ginger
  • 1 c lite soy sauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Stir together first 4 ingredients In a large-ish shallow dish or large zip-top plastic freezer bag; add beef.
  • Step #2 Cover up or seal, & chill 3 hrs, turning every once in awhile.
  • Step #3 Remove beef from marinade, discarding marinade.
  • Step #4 Sprinkle top salt & pepper on all sides of beef, & place this in a roasting pan.
  • Step #5 Bake, uncovered, at 500° for 15 mins.
  • Step #6 Reduce heat to 325°, & bake 30 more mins or to desired degree of doneness.
  • Step #7 Cover up loosely with foil wrap, & let this stand 15 mins before slicing.
  • Step #8 *3 tbsps sesame oil & 3 tbsps canola oil can be substituted.
  • Step #9 Note: Tying the tenderloin with butcher's twine allows for more even cooking.
  • Step #10 You can ask your butcher to tie it for you.
