Mexican Turkey Turnovers Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 (1.25-oz) package taco seasoning mix
  • 2 tbsps vegetable oil
  • 2 c sliced cooked turkey
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 (16-oz) can put in the fridged jumbo biscuits, split
  • 1 c (4 oz) shredded colby-Jack cheese mix
  • 1/2 red or green bell pepper, sliced
  • 6 green onions, sliced
  •  Toppings: sour cream, salsa

Directions
  • Step #1 Sauté onion & bell pepper in hot oil over medium-high heat 5 mins or until onion is tender.
  • Step #2 Stir in sliced turkey, tomato sauce, & taco seasoning mix.
  • Step #3 Remove mixture from heat; let cool.
  • Step #4 Roll each biscuit half into a 6-inch circle.
  • Step #5 Spoon about 2 tbsps turkey mixture, 1 tbsp cheese, & 2 tsps green onions on 1 side of each circle; fold in half, sealing edges with a fork.
  • Step #6 Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
  • Step #7 Bake at 400° for 15 mins or until golden.
  • Step #8 Serve with sour cream & salsa.
  • Step #9 NOTE: For testing purposes only, we used Pillsbury Grands! Biscuits.
