Tex-mex Black Bean Dip Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (15-oz) can black beans, drained
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/2 c sliced tomato
  • 1/4 c (1 oz) shredded reduced-fat Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 c sliced fresh cilantro
  • 1/3 c bottled picante sauce
  • 1/2 c sliced onion
  • 1 tsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp fresh lime juice

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat oil in a medium nonstick skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Add onion & garlic, & sauté 4 mins or until tender.
  • Step #3 Add tomato & next 4 ingredients (tomato through beans); cook 5 mins or until thick, stirring constantly.
  • Step #4 Remove from heat; partially mash with a potato masher.
  • Step #5 Add cheese, cilantro, & lime juice, stirring until cheese melts.
  • Step #6 Serve warm or at about room temp.
