Citrusy Chicken And Broccoli Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/3 c guava nectar
  • 1/3 c rice wine vinegar
  • 2 tsps oyster sauce
  • 1/3 c cornstarch
  • 1/4 c white sugar
  • 2 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - lbed thin & cut into bite-size pieces
  • 1 orange, zested & sliced
  • 1/2 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 c vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 In a large bowl, sugar, rice wine vinegar, oyster sauce, mix the guava nectar, soy sauce, & salt.
  • Step #2 Place the chicken in the bowl, cover, & marinate 30 mins in the refrigerator.
  • Step #3 Drain the chicken, reserving remaining marinade.
  • Step #4 Place cornstarch on a plate.
  • Step #5 Dip the chicken in the cornstarch to coat.
  • Step #6 Heat the oil in a skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #7 Cook & stir the chicken until no longer pink & juices run clear.
  • Step #8 Remove chicken from the skillet, & set aside, reserving remaining oil & juices.
  • Step #9 Place a steamer basket in a pot over boiling water, & steam the broccoli 2 mins, or until tender.
  • Step #10 In the skillet with the reserved oil & juices, cook & stir the orange zest & garlic for about 1 min.
  • Step #11 Pour in the remaining marinade, & bring to a boil.
  • Step #12 Cook 5 mins, or until thickened.
  • Step #13 Toss the chicken & broccoli in the skillet, & cook this until heated through & coated with the marinade.
  • Step #14 Place chicken in the center of a platter.
  • Step #15 Arrange orange slices & broccoli around the chicken to serve.
