Whole Cooked Artichokes Recipe

Ingredients
  •  Lemon wedge
  • 4 large artichokes
  • 3 tbsps lemon juice

Directions
  • Step #1 Wash artichokes by plunging up & down in cold water.
  • Step #2 Cut off stem ends, & trim about 1/2 inch from top of each artichoke.
  • Step #3 Remove any loose bottom leaves.
  • Step #4 Trim one-fourth off top of each outer leaf with scissors, & rub cut edges with lemon wedge.
  • Step #5 Arrange artichokes in a Dutch oven; cover with water, & add lemon juice.
  • Step #6 Bring to a boil; cover, reduce heat, & let simmer 35 mins or until lower leaves pull out easily.
  • Step #7 Drain.
  • Step #8 Microwave Directions: Stand artichokes in an 11- x 7-inch baking dish; add 1 c water to dish.
  • Step #9 Cover up dish with heavy-duty plastic wrap.
  • Step #10 Microwave at HIGH 15 to 20 mins, giving dish a quarter turn halfway through cooking time.
  • Step #11 Let stand 5 mins.
  • Step #12 (When done, petals near the center will pull out easily).
  • Step #13 Prep: 15 min.
  • Step #14 , Cook: 20 min.
  • Step #15 , Stand: 5 min.
