Onion Pissaladière Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 (13.8-oz) can put in the fridged pizza dough
  •  Thyme sprigs (optional)
  • 8 canned anchovy fillets in oil, drained
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tsps minced fresh thyme
  •  Cooking spray
  • 10 c thinly sliced Vidalia or other sweet onion (about 4 large)
  • 1/3 c niçoise olives, pitted & coarsely sliced

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat olive oil In a large-ish nonstick skillet over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Add onion & anchovies to pan.
  • Step #3 Cover up & cook for 25 mins or until onion is very tender, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #4 Uncover & cook 10 mins or until onion is golden brown, stirring often.
  • Step #5 Stir in 2 tsps thyme & pepper.
  • Step #6 Keep warm.
  • Step #7 Preheat oven to 400°.
  • Step #8 Press dough into a 15 x 10-inch jelly-roll pan coated with cooking spray.
  • Step #9 Bake at 400° for 15 mins or until lightly browned.
  • Step #10 Remove from oven.
  • Step #11 Arrange onion mixture evenly over crust; top this with olives.
  • Step #12 Cut into squares.
  • Step #13 Garnish with thyme sprigs, if desired.
  • Step #14 Serve as soon as possible.
