Candied Walnuts Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 1/4 c (8 oz) walnut halves
  • 1/2 c powdered sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 4 c water
  • 1/4 tsp ground red pepper

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine first 3 ingredients in a medium bowl.
  • Step #2 Bring 4 c water to a boil in a medium saucepan.
  • Step #3 Add walnuts, & cook 3 mins; drain.
  • Step #4 Immediately place walnuts in bowl with sugar mixture, tossing to coat.
  • Step #5 Place walnuts in a single layer on a lightly greased jelly-roll pan.
  • Step #6 Bake at 350° for 20 to 22 mins or until deep golden brown.
  • Step #7 Cool completely in pan.
  • Step #8 Store in an airtight container.
