Bruschetta Recipe

Ingredients
  • 4 1/2- inch-thick slices country bread
  • 2 tbsps olive oil
  • 1/8 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Heat the broiler.
  • Step #2 Put the bread on a baking sheet & brush both sides with the oil.
  • Step #3 Sprinkle top with the salt.
  • Step #4 Broil, turning once, until the bread is brown on the outside but still slightly soft in the center, about 3 mins.
  • Step #5 Alternatively (and more traditionally), grill the bread.
  • Step #6 Cut each slice of bread into quarters.
  • Step #7 Variations: Bruschetta can be topped with endless combinations of ingredients.
  • Step #8 Some of our favorites to try:: * Chopped tomato & basil: * Diced roasted bell peppers with crumbled goat cheese: * Drained canned tuna & capers: * Strips of Parmigiano-Reggiano: * A split garlic clove rubbed over the toast, followed by a generous drizzle of olive oil.
