French-fried Tempura "shrimps" Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c milk
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 2 lbs unpeeled, large fresh shrimp
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp salt
  •  John's Dunk Sauce
  •  Peanut or vegetable oil

Directions
  • Step #1 Peel shrimp, leaving tails on; devein, if desired.
  • Step #2 Set aside.
  • Step #3 Combine eggs & next 4 ingredients in a small bowl, stirring just until mixed.
  • Step #4 Pour oil to a depth of 3 inches into a large heavy skillet or Dutch oven; heat to 375°.
  • Step #5 Hold each shrimp by tail, & dip into batter, coating thoroughly; fry shrimp, a few at a time, in hot oil 1 to 2 mins or until golden brown.
  • Step #6 Drain on paper towels, & serve as soon as possible with John's Dunk Sauce.
