Baked Guava Chicken Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp freshly ground pepper
  • 1 (12-oz) jar guava jam or jelly
  • 1/4 c fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp Hawaiian salt or sea salt
  • 1 c water
  • 2 to 2 1/2 lbs chicken drumettes
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tsps ground allspice

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine guava jam, salt, allspice, lemon juice, soy sauce, & pepper in a saucepan over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Cook until jam melts & mixture is mixed.
  • Step #3 Stir together water & cornstarch; stir in theto guava mixture.
  • Step #4 Bring to a boil, & boil 1 min until thickened.
  • Step #5 Remove from heat, & cool.
  • Step #6 Place chicken In a large-ish zip-top bag; pour 1/4 c sauce over chicken, tossing to coat.
  • Step #7 Cover up & chill 1 hr or overnight.
  • Step #8 Place chicken In a large-ish roasting pan.
  • Step #9 Bake at 350° for 30 mins; drain liquid.
  • Step #10 Pour remaining sauce over chicken.
  • Step #11 Bake 15 mins or until golden brown.
