Step #1
In a medium saucepan over med-heat/flame, stir this together milk & sugar until smooth.
Step #2 Heat, without stirring, to between 234 & 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water & placed on a flat surface.
Step #3 Remove from heat & stir in the coconut & vanilla.
Step #4 Let cool slightly.
Step #5 Drop by rounded spoonfuls onto waxed paper lined sheets & let cool completely.
