Cuban Green Soup Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 oz salt pork, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 5 (15 oz) cans navy beans, with juice
  • 2 (10 oz) packages frozen turnip greens with turnip pieces

Directions
  • Step #1 Place a stock pot or Dutch oven over med-heat/flame.
  • Step #2 Fry the salt pork for a few mins to release some liquid.
  • Step #3 Add onion, & saute until translucent.
  • Step #4 Stir in the navy beans & turnip greens.
  • Step #5 Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, & let simmer for about 30 mins.
  • Step #6 Serve with home made pepper vinegar & a side of cornbread for restaurant-style dining.
