Steamed Sesame Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c finely sliced green onions
  • 1/4 c sesame seeds, toasted
  • 3 tbsps grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp dried crushed red pepper
  •  Citrus Dipping Sauce
  • 36 won ton wrappers
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tbsps soy sauce
  • 3 c finely shredded napa cabbage
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 oz ground pork
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 4 oz ground round

Directions
  • Step #1 Sauté garlic & ginger in hot oil In a large-ish skillet 2 mins; add ground round & pork, & cook this until meat is no longer pink, stirring until it crumbles.
  • Step #2 Drain & add crushed red pepper, & soy sauce; cook, salt, stirring every once in awhile, 2 to 3 more mins.
  • Step #3 Remove from heat.
  • Step #4 Stir in cabbage, green onions, & sesame seeds; cool.
  • Step #5 Spoon 1 tbsp cabbage mixture in center of each won ton wrapper.
  • Step #6 Moisten won ton edges with water.
  • Step #7 Bring 2 opposite corners up, forming a triangle, but not sealing edges.
  • Step #8 Beginning at 1 corner, gather & pinch open dough until filling is enclosed.
  • Step #9 Place dumplings 1/2 inch apart in a lightly greased steamer basket.
  • Step #10 Place over boiling water; cover & steam 1 to 2 mins or until tender.
  • Step #11 Serve with Citrus Dipping Sauce.
