Chunky Cheese Queso Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (20-oz) jar hot salsa
  • 1 (16-oz) jar process cheese spread
  • 1 lb ground hot pork sausage
  • 1 (16-oz) loaf pasteurized prepared cheese product, cubed

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown sausage In a large-ish skillet, stirring until it crumbles & is no longer pink; rinse & drain.
  • Step #2 Stir together sausage & remaining ingredients in a 2 1/2quart slow cooker (aka crockpot).
  • Step #3 Cover up & cook at LOW 2 hrs or until cheese melts.
  • Step #4 Serve with tortilla chips.
  • Step #5 NOTE: To cook on the stovetop, prepare sausage as directed above.
  • Step #6 Return sausage to skillet; add in the remaining ingredients.
  • Step #7 Cool over low heat/flame, stirring every once in awhile, 8 to 10 mins or until cheese is melted.
