Ham Balls Recipe

Ingredients
  • 6 tbsps vegetable oil, divided
  • 1 lb ground pork
  • 1 c milk
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 lb sliced ham
  • 1/2 c water
  • 2 c fine dry breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 tsp ground red pepper
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c white vinegar
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 c firmly packed brown sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Process ham in a food processor/blender until coarsely ground; add pork & next 5 ingredients, & pulse to mix.
  • Step #2 Cover up & chill 1 hr.
  • Step #3 Shape into 1-inch balls.
  • Step #4 Cook balls, in 2 tbsps hot oil In a large-ish skillet over med-heat/flame 3 mins on each side or until lightly browned, in batches, adding oil as needed.
  • Step #5 Place in lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Step #6 Combine brown sugar, 1/2 c water, & next 2 ingredients In a large-ish saucepan over med-heat/flame; cook about 5 mins or until thoroughly heated.
  • Step #7 Pour sauce over balls.
  • Step #8 Bake, covered, at 350° for 20 mins.
  • Step #9 Uncover & bake 30 more mins.
