Easy Egg Rolls With Sweet-and-sour Orange Dipping Sauce Recipe

Ingredients
  •  Vegetable oil
  • 1 (16-oz.) package egg roll wrappers
  • 1 1/2 tbsps grated fresh ginger
  • 2 garlic cloves, pressed
  • 1 lb hot ground pork sausage
  • 1 (10-oz.) bag shredded coleslaw mix
  •  Sweet-and-Sour Orange Dipping Sauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown sausage In a large-ish nonstick skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until it crumbles & is no longer pink.
  • Step #2 Drain excess grease, & pat dry with paper towels, if necessary.
  • Step #3 Return sausage to skillet.
  • Step #4 Stir in ginger & garlic; cook 1 min.
  • Step #5 Add coleslaw mix, & cook, stirring every once in awhile, 3 mins or until coleslaw mix is tender; let this stand 30 mins to cool.
  • Step #6 Spoon 1/4 c sausage mixture in center of each egg roll wrapper.
  • Step #7 Fold top corner of each wrapper over filling; fold left & right corners over filling.
  • Step #8 Lightly brush remaining corner with water; tightly roll filled end toward remaining corner, & carefully press to seal.
  • Step #9 Pour vegetable oil to a depth of 2 inches into a wok or Dutch oven; heat to 375°.
  • Step #10 Fry, in batches, 2 to 3 mins or until golden, turning once; drain on paper towels.
  • Step #11 Note: Egg rolls can be assembled up to a day ahead.
  • Step #12 Place them in a single layer on a baking sheet, cover tightly with plastic wrap, & chill in the fridge.
  • Step #13 Fry according to recipe instructions.
  • Step #14 Do not fry them ahead of time or fry & freeze.
  • Step #15 We weren't happy with the results.
