Chile-cheese Quesadillas Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 (4.5-oz.) can sliced green chiles
  • 1 (3-oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 c (4 oz.) shredded American cheese
  • 1/8 tsp ground red pepper
  • 1 c (4 oz.) shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 8 (8-inch) flour tortillas
  •  Toppings: sour cream & salsa
  •  Garnish: cilantro sprigs

Directions
  • Step #1 Beat first 6 ingredients at medium speed with an electric mixer until well mixed.
  • Step #2 Spread about 1/2 c cheese mixture onto each of 4 tortillas, leaving a 1/2-inch border.
  • Step #3 Top with remaining tortillas.
  • Step #4 Heat a lightly greased large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat just until hot.
  • Step #5 Cook quesadillas in 4 batches, 1 min on each side or until filling melts & outside browns.
  • Step #6 Cut into wedges, & serve this with desired toppings.
  • Step #7 Garnish, if desired.
