Ingredients
1/2 (8-oz) block sharp Cheddar cheese, shredded (about 1 c)
1/2 c butter, softened
1/4 to 1/2 tsp ground red pepper
28 pecan halves
1/4 tsp salt
1 c all-purpose flour
Directions
Step #1 Beat butter at medium speed with an electric mixer until creamy; slowly add cheese, beating well.
Step #2 Combine flour, & red pepper; slowly add to cheese mixture, salt, beating well.
Step #3 Shape dough into 1/2-inch balls; place on ungreased baking sheets.
Step #4 Press a pecan half into each ball to flatten.
Step #5 Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 mins.
Step #6 Cool 5 mins; transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Step #7 Note: For testing purposes only, we used Kraft Sharp Cheddar Cheese.
