Garlic-cheese Grits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2/3 c butter or margarine
  • 1 (2-lb) loaf process cheese spread, cubed
  • 5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 c uncooked regular grits
  • 1 c half-and-half
  • 1 1/2 tbsps salt
  • 3 1/2 quarts water

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring water & salt to a boil In a large-ish Dutch oven; slowly stir in the grits & garlic.
  • Step #2 Cover up, stirring every once in awhile, reduce heat, & let simmer, 10 mins.
  • Step #3 Add cheese, stirring constantly, & butter; simmer, half-and-half, until cheese & butter melt.
