Sausage-cheese Breakfast Cups Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c milk
  • 1/4 c cooked, crumbled hot ground pork sausage
  • 1/4 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp dry mustard
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder
  • 1 c cubed white bread (about 2 slices)
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c shredded Monterey Jack cheese with peppers

Directions
  • Step #1 Layer cubed bread, cooked sausage, & cheese evenly into 2 greased 8-oz.
  • Step #2 ramekins or individual soufflé dishes.
  • Step #3 Whisk together eggs & next 5 ingredients.
  • Step #4 Pour evenly over cheese in ramekins.
  • Step #5 Cover up & chill 8 hrs.
  • Step #6 Let stand at about room temp 20 mins before baking.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350° for 20 to 25 mins or until set.
  • Step #8 Let stand 5 mins before serving.
  • Step #9 Note: To bake in a muffin pan, layer cubed bread, cooked sausage, & shredded cheese evenly in 4 greased c in pan.
  • Step #10 Pour egg mixture evenly over cheese in muffin c.
  • Step #11 Cover up & chill 8 hrs.
  • Step #12 Let stand at about room temp 20 mins before baking.
  • Step #13 Bake at 350° for 15 to 20 mins or until set.
  • Step #14 Let stand 5 mins before serving.
  • Step #15 Individual Ham-Swiss Breakfast Cups: Prepare recipe as directed, substituting 1/4 c sliced cooked ham for sausage & 1/4 c shredded Swiss cheese for Monterey Jack cheese with peppers.
