Braised Broccoli With Turkey Sausage Recipe

Ingredients
  • 8 cherry tomatoes, rinsed, stemmed, & halved
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsps minced garlic
  • 1 onion (8 oz.), peeled, halved, & thinly sliced
  •  Salt & pepper
  • 1/2 c dry white wine
  • 1/4 c shredded parmesan cheese (about 1 oz.)
  • 3 c broccoli florets (about 8 oz.), rinsed & drained
  • 8 turkey sausage patties (about 8 oz. total)

Directions
  • Step #1 In a 10- to 12-inch nonstick frying pan over medium-high heat, cook sausage patties in a single layer, until well browned on both sides & no longer pink in the center, turning once, about 8 mins total.
  • Step #2 Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  • Step #3 Return pan to medium heat.
  • Step #4 Add oil, onion, & garlic & cook this until onion is limp & starting to brown, 5 to 8 mins.
  • Step #5 Add broccoli; cook 2 to 3 mins.
  • Step #6 Add wine & sprinkle with salt & pepper.
  • Step #7 Cover up & let simmer, until broccoli is tender when pierced, stirring every once in awhile, 4 to 6 mins.
  • Step #8 Gently stir in the sausage & tomatoes & cook just until hot, about 1 min.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top with parmesan cheese.
