Garlic Grits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 (3-oz) packages cream cheese, cubed
  • 1/2 tsp hot sauce
  • 6 c half-and-half
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 1/2 c uncooked quick-cooking grits

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring half-and-half, garlic powder, salt, & pepper to a boil in a Dutch oven; slowly stir in the grits.
  • Step #2 Return to a boil; cover, stirring every once in awhile, reduce heat, & let simmer, 5 to 7 mins or until thickened.
  • Step #3 Add cream cheese & 1/2 tsp hot sauce, stirring until cream cheese melts.
  • Step #4 Serve as soon as possible.
