Goat Cheese, Artichoke, And Smoked Ham Strata Recipe

Ingredients
  •  Cooking spray
  • 3/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/2 c (2 oz) grated fresh Parmesan cheese
  • 1 (4-oz) package goat cheese
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 c (2 oz) shredded fontina cheese
  • 3 1/4 c 1% low-fat milk, divided
  • 1/2 tsp sliced fresh thyme
  • 8 oz 33%-less-sodium smoked ham, coarsely sliced
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 (8-oz) carton egg substitute
  • 2 (14-oz) cans artichoke hearts, drained, rinsed, & coarsely sliced
  • 10 (1 1/2-oz) slices sourdough bread, cut into 1/2-inch cubes

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Step #2 Place 1 c milk, egg substitute, & goat cheese in a mixer; process until smooth.
  • Step #3 Combine goat cheese mixture, remaining 2 1/4 c milk, & garlic In a large-ish bowl, black pepper, thyme, nutmeg, stirring with a whisk.
  • Step #4 Add bread cubes; stir carefully to mix.
  • Step #5 Let stand 10 mins.
  • Step #6 Place half of the bread mixture in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.
  • Step #7 Arrange Parmesan cheese, ham, & artichoke hearts evenly over the bread mixture.
  • Step #8 Top with remaining bread mixture, & sprinkle evenly with fontina cheese.
  • Step #9 Bake strata at 350° for 40 mins or until edges are bubbly.
  • Step #10 Let stand 15 mins.
