French Breakfast Puffs Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 c sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsps baking powder
  • 2 tbsps butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/3 c butter or margarine, melted
  • 1/2 c sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 c milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Beat butter, 1/2 c sugar, & egg at medium speed with a mixer until creamy & well mixed.
  • Step #2 :|u;>u?flour & next 3 ingredients; add to butter mixture alternately with milk, beginning & ending with flour mixture.
  • Step #3 Beat at lowish speed until mixed after each addition.
  • Step #4 Spoon into greased miniature (1 3/4-inch) muffin pans, filling two-thirds full.
  • Step #5 Bake at 350° for 14 to 16 mins.
  • Step #6 Remove from pans as soon as possible.
  • Step #7 Combine 1/4 c sugar & cinnamon.
  • Step #8 Dip tops of muffins in 2 tbsps melted butter & then in sugar mixture.
  • Step #9 Note: Batter may be baked in regular muffin pans for 20 to 25 mins.
