Glacier Peaks Granola Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/2 c wheat bran
  • 2 c sweetened puffed-wheat cereal (such as Kellogg's Smacks)
  • 3 c regular oats
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/2 c sweetened dried cranberries (such as Craisins)
  • 1/2 c sliced dried apricots
  • 1/3 c honey
  • 1/2 c applesauce
  • 2 tbsps slivered almonds

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Step #2 Combine the first 4 ingredients In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #3 Combine applesauce, & cook over med-heat/flame 2 mins or until honey is melted, honey, oil, cinnamon, & ginger in a small saucepan, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #4 Pour applesauce mixture over oat mixture, stirring to coat.
  • Step #5 Place mixture in a jelly-roll pan, & bake this at 375° for 20 mins.
  • Step #6 Gently stir granola, & bake an extra 15 mins or until dry.
  • Step #7 Cool; stir in the apricots & cranberries.
  • Step #8 Store in an airtight container.
