Cheese-stuffed French Toast With Strawberry Sauce Recipe

Step #1 Cut a horizontal slit through bottom crust of each slice of bread to form a pocket.
Step #2 Combine powdered sugar & cream cheese; stir well.
Step #3 Spread mixture evenly into pockets of bread.
Step #4 Place 6 bread slices in each of two large, shallow baking dishes; set aside.
Step #5 Combine milk, egg whites, sugar, vanilla extract, & eggs in a bowl; beat well with a wire whisk.
Step #6 Pour milk mixture evenly over bread slices.
Step #7 Cover up & chill 1 hr or until liquid is absorbed.
Step #8 Coat a large nonstick skillet with cooking spray, & place over med-heat/flame until hot.
Step #9 Arrange half of bread slices in skillet, & cook 3 mins.
Step #10 Turn bread over, & cook 3 mins or until browned; remove this from skillet.
Step #11 Repeat procedure with the remaining bread slices.
Step #12 Serve with Strawberry Sauce, & garnish with Candied Lemon Rind.
