Bacon-and-egg Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  • 2 c (8 oz) finely shredded Mexican four-cheese mix
  • 2 1/2 c milk
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 8 large eggs
  •  Salsa or sliced fresh tomatoes
  • 1/2 lb bacon, cooked & crumbled (8 slices)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 (16-oz) Hawaiian bread loaf, cut into 3/4-inch cubes
  • 1 tsp dried mustard
  • 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions
  • Step #1 Arrange bread cubes in a lightly greased 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
  • Step #2 Sprinkle top with shredded cheese & crumbled bacon.
  • Step #3 Whisk together eggs, salt, mustard, pepper, milk, & Worcestershire sauce.
  • Step #4 Pour over prepared dish; press down bread cubes with a spoon to allow bread to soak up liquid.
  • Step #5 Cover up & chill 8 hrs.
  • Step #6 Let stand 30 mins before baking.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350° for 35 mins or until set & golden.
  • Step #8 Serve with salsa or sliced fresh tomatoes.
  • Step #9 Note: Hawaiian bread may be found in the deli section of supermarket.
  • Step #10 Ten to 12 white bread slices, cubed, may be substituted for Hawaiian bread.
