Fruit-and-nut Granola Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 c golden raisins
  • 1 c sliced dried mixed fruit
  • 1/2 c toasted or honey-crunch wheat germ
  • 1/2 c sweetened dried cranberries
  • 2 tbsps sesame seeds
  • 1/4 c nonfat dry milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 c honey
  • 1/4 c sunflower seed kernels
  • 1/4 c orange juice
  • 1 1/2 tsps ground cinnamon
  • 2 tsps vegetable oil
  • 4 c regular oats
  • 1/2 c sliced almonds
  •  Cooking spray

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Step #2 Combine first 8 ingredients In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #3 Combine the honey & orange juice in a small saucepan over med-heat/flame, & cook 4 mins or until warm.
  • Step #4 Add the oil & vanilla; stir with a whisk.
  • Step #5 Pour honey mixture over oat mixture, & toss well.
  • Step #6 Spread oat mixture onto a jelly-roll pan coated with cooking spray.
  • Step #7 Bake at 350° for 15 mins; stir.
  • Step #8 Bake an extra 10 mins or until crisp.
  • Step #9 Cool in pan.
  • Step #10 Place oat mixture In a large-ish bowl; stir in the dried fruits.
