Spiced Fruity Oatmeal Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 c 1% low-fat milk
  • 2 tbsps sliced walnuts
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • 1 1/3 c regular oats
  • 1/4 c sweetened dried cranberries (such as Craisins) or raisins
  • 1 1/2 c apple juice
  • 1/2 c water

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine the first 3 ingredients in a medium saucepan; bring to a boil.
  • Step #2 Stir in oats & cranberries; reduce heat, & let simmer 4 mins, stirring every once in awhile.
  • Step #3 Stir in milk, cinnamon, sugar, & nutmeg; cook 1 min.
  • Step #4 Spoon into bowls; sprinkle with walnuts.
