Levee Camp Griddle Cakes Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  •  Honey or maple syrup
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 1 c buttermilk
  • 1 c white cornmeal
  • 1 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine cornmeal & next 4 ingredients In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #2 Combine buttermilk, & egg; add to dry ingredients, sour cream, stirring just until moistened.
  • Step #3 Pour about 3 tbsps batter for each cake onto a hot, lightly greased griddle.
  • Step #4 Cook pancakes 3 mins or until tops are covered with bubbles & edges look cooked; turn & cook 2 mins.
  • Step #5 (Cakes should be golden brown.
  • Step #6 ) Serve with honey or maple syrup.
