Ingredients
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine
  • 2 tbsps prepared horseradish
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 Granny Smith apples, peeled & coarsely sliced
  • 1/4 c apple cider
  • 1/4 c sugar

Directions
  • Step #1 Bring first 4 ingredients to a boil in a saucepan; reduce heat, & let simmer 15 mins.
  • Step #2 Cool slightly; discard cloves.
  • Step #3 Process apple mixture in a mixer or food processor/blender, in batches, until smooth.
  • Step #4 Return to saucepan, & stir in the butter, horseradish, & lemon juice.
  • Step #5 Cook over low heat/flame 2 to 3 mins or until thoroughly heated.
