Southwestern Hot Browns Recipe

Ingredients
  •  Cheese Sauce
  • 1 c (4 oz) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 (4.5-oz) can sliced green chiles
  • 2 large tomatoes, sliced & halved
  • 8 bacon slices, cooked
  • 1 lb roasted turkey slices
  • 4 large thick cornbread squares

Directions
  • Step #1 Place cornbread on baking sheet, & broil 3 inches from heat until toasted, turning once.
  • Step #2 Arrance 2 halves cornbread in each of 4 lightly greased individual baking dishes.
  • Step #3 Top cornbread evenly with green chiles over turkey before adding Cheese Sauce.
  • Step #4 Sprinkle top shredded sharp Cheddar cheese evenly over sauce.
  • Step #5 Broil 6 inches from heat 4 mins or until bubbly & lightly browned; remove this from oven.
  • Step #6 Top evenly with bacon & tomato.
  • Step #7 Serve as soon as possible.
  • Step #8 Note: A lightly greased 15- x 10-inch jellyroll pan may be substituted for individal baking dises.
  • Step #9 Arrange cornbread halves evenly in bottom of pan.
  • Step #10 Top evenly with green chiles over turkey before adding Cheese Sauce; sprinkle shredded sharp Cheddar cheese.
  • Step #11 Proceed with recipe as directed.
