Chicken Noodle Casserole Recipe

Ingredients
  • salt to taste
  • 6 oz egg noodles
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 (10.75 oz) can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • ground black pepper to taste
  • 4 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1/2 c butter
  • 1 c crumbled buttery round crackers
  • 1 c sour cream

Directions
  • Step #1 Poach chicken in a large pot of simmering water.
  • Step #2 Cook until no longer pink in center, about 12 mins.
  • Step #3 Remove from pot & set aside.
  • Step #4 Bring chicken cooking water to a boil & cook pasta in it.
  • Step #5 Drain.
  • Step #6 Cut chicken into small pieces, & mix with noodles.
  • Step #7 In a separate bowl, mix together mushroom soup, chicken soup, & sour cream.
  • Step #8 Spice up with salt & pepper.
  • Step #9 Gently stir this together cream soup mixture with the chicken mixture.
  • Step #10 Place in a 2 quart baking dish.
  • Step #11 Melt butter in a small saucepan, & remove this from heat.
  • Step #12 Stir in crumbled crackers.
  • Step #13 Top casserole with the buttery crackers.
  • Step #14 Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for about 30 mins, until heated through & browned on top.
