Ingredients
2/3 c (6 oz) 1/3-less-fat cream cheese, softened
2 tbsps fresh orange juice
1 tbsp grated orange rind
1 (25-oz) package frozen roll dough
1 c granulated sugar, divided
1 tbsp grated lemon rind
1/2 c sweetened dried cranberries (such as Craisins) or sliced dried apricots
5 tsps fresh lemon juice
1 c powdered sugar
1/4 c butter or stick margarine, melted
Cooking spray
1 large egg
Directions
Step #1 Thaw roll dough at about room temp 30 mins.
Step #2 Cut rolls in half.
Step #3 Place 24 halves, cut sides down, in bottom of each of 2 (9-inch) round cake pans coated with cooking spray.
Step #4 Brush butter evenly over rolls.
Step #5 Cover up; let rise in a warm place (85°), free from drafts, 30 mins.
Step #6 Sprinkle top with dried cranberries.
Step #7 Combine 1/4 c granulated sugar, cream cheese, orange juice, & egg; beat at medium speed of a mixer until well-mixed.
Step #8 Pour cream cheese mixture evenly over rolls.
Step #9 Combine 3/4 c granulated sugar, & rinds.
Step #10 Sprinkle top evenly over rolls.
Step #11 Cover up & let rise 1 hr or until doubled in size.
Step #12 Preheat oven to 350°.
Step #13 Bake at 350° for 20 mins.
Step #14 Cover up with foil wrap.
Step #15 Bake an extra 5 mins or until rolls in center are done.
Step #16 Remove from oven; cool 15 mins.
Step #17 Combine powdered sugar & lemon juice.
Step #18 Drizzle over rolls.
Step #19 Overnight Variation: After pouring the cream cheese mixture over rolls, cover with plastic wrap & put in the fridge 12 hrs.
Step #20 Gently remove plastic wrap from rolls; sprinkle with rind mixture.
Step #21 Let stand at about room temp 30 mins or until dough has doubled in size.
Step #22 Proceed with recipe as directed.
