Ingredients
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tsps milk
2 (1/4 oz) envelopes active dry yeast
2 tsps ground cinnamon
1 c boiling water
6 c all-purpose flour
1 1/3 c sugar, divided
2 tsps salt
1 c shortening
3/4 c butter or margarine, melted, divided
1 c warm water (105º to 115º)
1/2 c powdered sugar
Directions
Step #1 Combine shortening, 1 c sugar & salt In a large-ish bowl; stir in the 1 c boiling water.
Step #2 Cool.
Step #3 Stir in eggs.
Step #4 Combine yeast & 1 c warm water in a 1-c glass measuring c; let this stand 5 mins.
Step #5 Stir into egg mixture.
Step #6 Gradually add flour, stirring until mixed.
Step #7 Cover up & chill at least 4 hrs.
Step #8 Roll one-third of dough into a 14- x 10-inch rectangle.
Step #9 Brush with 1/2 c melted butter; sprinkle with 1/3 c sugar & cinnamon.
Step #10 Roll up, starting at a long end; cut crosswise into 3/4-inch thick slices.
Step #11 Place in 2 lightly greased 9-inch round cakepans.
Step #12 Let rise & bake this at 375° for 10 to 12 mins or until golden.
Step #13 Stir together 1/2 c powdered sugar & milk; drizzle glaze over warm rolls.
