Sausage Gravy Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 c half-and-half or milk
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c all-purpose flour
  • 3/4 lb ground pork sausage

Directions
  • Step #1 Brown sausage In a large-ish heavy skillet, stirring until it crumbles.
  • Step #2 Drain sausage on paper towels, reserving 1/3 c drippings in skillet.
  • Step #3 Whisk flour into sausage drippings until smooth.
  • Step #4 Cook over medium-high heat, whisking constantly, 3 mins or until lightly browned; stir in the sausage.
  • Step #5 Gradually add half-and-half, & cook over med-heat/flame, stirring constantly, until thickened & bubbly.
  • Step #6 Stir in salt & pepper.
  • Step #7 Serve gravy with biscuits.
