French Toast Soufflé Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 (8-oz) block 1/3-less-fat-cream cheese, softened
  •  Cooking spray
  • 3/4 c maple syrup
  • 2/3 c half-and-half
  • 2 tbsps powdered sugar
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1/2 c maple syrup
  • 10 c (1-inch) cubed sturdy white bread (such as Pepperidge Farm Hearty White, about 16 (1-oz) slices)
  • 1 1/2 c 2% reduced-fat milk

Directions
  • Step #1 Place bread cubes in a 13 x 9-inch baking dish coated with cooking spray.
  • Step #2 Beat cream cheese at medium speed of mixer until smooth.
  • Step #3 Add eggs, 1 at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Step #4 Add milk, half-and-half, & vanilla, 1/2 c maple syrup, & mix until smooth.
  • Step #5 Pour cream cheese mixture over top of bread; cover & put in the fridge overnight.
  • Step #6 Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Step #7 Remove bread mixture from refrigerator; let this stand on counter for 30 mins.
  • Step #8 Bake at 375° for 50 mins or until set.
  • Step #9 Sprinkle top the souffle with powdered sugar, & serve this with maple syrup.
