Baked Pears With Streusel Filling Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1/4 c all-purpose flour (about 1 oz)
  • 3 Anjou pears, peeled & cut in half lengthwise
  •  Pears:
  •  Streusel:
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 c apple juice
  • 1/4 tsp ground allspice
  • 1/4 c packed brown sugar
  • 1/4 c sliced pecans, toasted
  • 1 1/2 tbsps apple brandy
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 1/2 tbsps butter, melted
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat oven to 375°.
  • Step #2 To prepare streusel, lightly spoon flour into a dry measuring c; level with a knife.
  • Step #3 Combine flour & next 6 ingredients (through allspice) in a bowl.
  • Step #4 Stir with a fork until mixture resembles coarse meal.
  • Step #5 Stir in pecans.
  • Step #6 To prepare pears, using a melon baller or spoon, scoop out core from each pear half.
  • Step #7 Spoon streusel evenly into pear halves.
  • Step #8 Place pear halves, cut sides up, in an 8-inch square baking dish.
  • Step #9 Pour apple juice & apple brandy into dish.
  • Step #10 Cover up dish with foil wrap.
  • Step #11 Bake at 375° for 30 mins.
  • Step #12 Uncover & bake an extra 5 mins.
  • Step #13 Serve pears warm.
  • Step #14 Drizzle evenly with cooking liquid.
