Dill Pancakes With Country Ham And Cheese Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 tbsp sliced fresh dill
  • 1 c whole milk
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
  •  Fresh dill sprigs (optional)
  • 1/2 c grated Gruyère, Swiss, or Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 c coarsely sliced smoked ham
  • 1 egg
  • 1 c pancake mix
  • 1 tsp salt

Directions
  • Step #1 Combine the pancake mix, salt, ham, & cayenne In a large-ish bowl.
  • Step #2 In another bowl, whisk together the milk, oil, cheese, egg, & sliced dill.
  • Step #3 Stir the wet ingredients into the dry & whisk just to mix.
  • Step #4 Let the batter rest according to the pancake-mix label directions (or for 5 mins if you make your own mix).
  • Step #5 Place a nonstick griddle or skillet coated with oil, butter, or cooking spray over medium-high heat.
  • Step #6 Spoon or pour about 1/3 c of batter for each pancake onto the griddle.
  • Step #7 Turn when bubbles rise to the surface & the edges look cooked.
  • Step #8 Repeat with the remaining batter.
  • Step #9 Garnish with dill sprigs (if desired).
