Green Eggs And Ham Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 c egg substitute
  • 2 tbsps 1% milk
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 c sliced fresh basil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 plum tomatoes, thinly sliced lengthwise
  • 1 oz pancetta, sliced
  • 1/4 c (1 oz) shredded fontina cheese
  • 1 (8-oz) loaf French bread, cut diagonally into 6 slices

Directions
  • Step #1 Preheat broiler.
  • Step #2 Arrange bread slices in a single layer on a baking sheet.
  • Step #3 Broil 2 mins or until tops are toasted.
  • Step #4 Remove from oven.
  • Step #5 Turn the slices over; set aside on baking sheet.
  • Step #6 Combine egg substitute, salt, basil, & egg, milk, pepper, stirring with a whisk.
  • Step #7 Heat a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Step #8 Add garlic & pancetta; sauté 3 mins or until pancetta begins to crisp.
  • Step #9 Add egg mixture to pan; cook 2 mins or just until set, stirring carefully.
  • Step #10 Divide egg mixture evenly over bread slices.
  • Step #11 Top egg mixture with tomatoes, & sprinkle with cheese.
  • Step #12 Broil 2 mins or until the cheese melts & begins to brown.
  • Step #13 Serve as soon as possible.
