Garlic Shrimp And Grits Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 c whipping cream
  • 1 c (4 oz) shredded extra-sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 3 c water
  • 1 lb unpeeled, medium-size fresh shrimp, cooked
  •  Garnishes: sliced fresh chives, peeled & cooked shrimp, freshly ground black pepper
  • 1/4 c butter or margarine
  • 1 c quick-cooking grits, uncooked

Directions
  • Step #1 Peel shrimp, & devein, if desired.
  • Step #2 Bring 3 c water, butter, cream, & salt to a boil In a large-ish saucepan over medium-high heat.
  • Step #3 Reduce heat to medium, & whisk in grits.
  • Step #4 Cook, whisking constantly, 7 to 8 mins or until mixture is smooth.
  • Step #5 Stir in 1 lb shrimp, & garlic, cheese, & cook 1 to 2 mins or until thoroughly heated.
  • Step #6 Garnish, if desired.
